Why Own A Business?
Time Freedom
Owning a business offers the ultimate control over your schedule. Unlike traditional 9-to-5 jobs, you decide when and how you work, allowing you to balance personal life, family, and professional ambitions more effectively. This freedom enables entrepreneurs to work at their peak times of productivity and take time off as needed without being tied to a strict office schedule.
Financial Freedom
While starting a business involves risk, it also opens the door to potentially unlimited financial rewards. Entrepreneurs have the ability to directly reap the benefits of their hard work and innovation, leading to financial independence. Over time, successful business ownership allows for personal earnings that far exceed what might be possible through salaried employment.
Generational Wealth
A successful business can be a legacy passed down through generations, providing not just financial security for your descendants but also a platform for future entrepreneurial endeavors. This aspect of business ownership ensures that your success is not just a personal triumph, but a foundation for your family's future.
Impact: Providing Solutions and Improving Lives
Entrepreneurs often start businesses to fill a gap in the market or address specific societal needs. Owning a business gives you the unique opportunity to impact your community and the world positively by introducing innovative products and services that improve lives. This impact is not only fulfilling but can also drive customer loyalty and business success.
Self-Growth
The journey of entrepreneurship is one of intense personal development. Facing the challenges of starting and running a business forces you to grow and adapt, enhancing skills such as problem-solving, leadership, resilience, and strategic planning. Furthermore, since you are self-employed, you will ultimately be responsible for your own success, forcing you to look inward and not rely on any employer to support you. This continuous growth not only advances your own business but also develops you as a person.
Owning your life is the ultimate dream; no employer to tell you where and when to be somewhere. Time freedom ultimately paired with financial freedom is the goal and is possible with business ownership.
A random Wednesday and typical work day for Jordan. Once you have a team in place running the daily operations of your business, your work as the owner may simply consist of checking in with your managers during a break on the ski lift.
What Life Can Become
If you feel truly aligned with pursuing entrepreneurship, the sky's the limit. Without being confined to a W2 job or career, you wake up every day as the boss of your own life, deciding your own goals and how to make the most of your time. Yes, there will be incredible challenges that come your way, and it’s not easy! But with a clear vision, confidence and goals in mind, you will continue to get closer to the life of your dreams. And don’t forget to be present and enjoy the journey just as much as the results!
In my opinion, there is nothing greater than owning your life and working towards all the benefits that business ownership can provide. I now spend my days overseeing my team who runs the daily operations while building additional new businesses from scratch and mixing in quality time with family. I also take care of myself too. Since starting my own business, I have become more clear with what I want for myself. I spend a lot of time outdoors: hiking in the summer, skiing in the winter. I am an avid sports enthusiast, watching games and taking trips to see my teams play in various cities. I dive into my music hobbies by performing in a community choir and playing piano. And I love going to the movie theatre, with my family or by myself.
Life can be whatever you make it. And it is a lot easier to make it what you want when you are an entrepreneur who decides every day what it will look like.
